Afghan Pavilion – Global Village Dubai

The annual Global Village event in Dubai is a vibrant multi-cultural shopping and entertainment experience. A great example of the UAE’s hospitality and diversity, where key aspects from so many cultures and traditions are celebrated. Try Thailand’s Pad Thai or buy a dazzling Moroccan lamp, hand made soaps from Lebanon or delicious honey from Yemen, the choices are endless.

Each country has a pavilion every year, set up for upto six months from November to April. It’s a fantastic place to see what’s on offer from every corner of the world. There is chance to buy authentic Afghan goods too. Everything from carefully crafted carpets to beautifully embroidered traditional attire and leather goods are available here. You can even try the mouth watering Afghan ice-cream, and for those who are interested in some cultural entertainment there are Attan (the traditional Afghan dance) performances every week.
